Whispers Through Time
About
The only man Sierra Masters has ever loved appears with a proposition that could alter her future. She turns him down, but then, after experiencing a foretelling dream, decides to take a risk in order to uncover the truth.
Hunter Davenport realizes the evidence he's shared with Sierra could indeed destroy her - but it could free her as well. The decision is yanked from her hands when the past and present collide through a historical portal on sacred Native American land. Will she take the gift that is offered? And will Hunter do what he didn't do twelve years earlier - stand by her?
Only time will give them their answers.
Praise for this book
"...Rosetta Diane Hoessli is a masterful storyteller, seamlessly weaving the events of the past into the present."
...Readers who pick up this novel will likely come for the romance and the setting...but they will quickly find themselves wholly invested in the characters, both past and present.
I’m full-blood Mescalero Apache...Hoessli, though not Native American herself, brings her characters – both Indian and non-Indian - to life with such authenticity and passion I felt I knew them all. This story is spellbinding and unique.
A love story? A mystery novel? A history lesson? A paranormal experience? This book has it all! Like nothing I’ve ever read. The author draws you in and won’t let go. Can’t wait for the sequel!
Ms. Hoessli is a wordsmith who paints a vivid picture. She is adept at weaving history, romance, and a bit of the paranormal (or is it?) into her book, WHISPERS THROUGH TIME. She clearly has done her research and provides an enthralling read.
5.0 out of 5 stars A thrilling tale of suspense, intrigue, and rekindled love
Reviewed in the United States on March 10, 2025In "Whispers Through Time," novelist Sierra Masters finds herself with writer's block while under contract to pen a family saga. Her creative drought leads her on an unexpected journey from Texas to South Dakota, uncovering a hidden branch in her family tree. As she delves into her heritage, Sierra experiences vivid visions that blur the lines between past and present, revealing secrets far beyond what she could learn in the modern day. This compelling novel weaves together the historical significance of Wounded Knee and the American Indian Movement with stories of murder, government corruption, stolen artifacts, and the rekindling of a lost love. A redemptive tale of discovery awaits those who enjoy western fiction, though readers should be aware that the narrative contains sensitive subject matter- sexual assault.
